♥What is the current state of Korea about school bullying?
I want to research about the current situations in Korea and
 how serious school violence is.
 
 
According to 2014 school bullying research on the actual condition,
-About 1.3 million cases occurred.
-A lowered age of students are experiencing school violence as a bully or a victim.
-Type of school violence is getting diversified like errands, cyber violences etc.
-School violence usually occur during school day like break and lunch time inside the school by their peers of same grades.


 
 
   
After this research, I could know the current state of Korea about school bullying and I would use it to describe seriousness of school violence and attention grabber.

♥Importance of research of psychological features.
I want to research specific reasons why psychological approach is more important than other regulations like punishment.

Topic :
We should focus on bully's psychology first to resolve school violence


Lots of regulations which are focused on punishments are less effective.
Reconciliation programs can make meaningful changes.
Best way to solve school bullying is approach of mind.
Various factors of adolescents psychology are causing complexly.



There are lots of regulations about punishments like zero tolerance policy, intensification but they are not considered as successful ways to resolve.
In 2013, school violence alternative debate in Assembly was about
Actually in 2012, one student who was attacked experienced trauma during giving heavy penalties to bully. After reconciliation programs included reflection and apology, he have overcame that shock and trauma.

After this research, I could get some examples but I think it is not enough and need more evidences and examples.

1)My argument
 
I want to argue that psychological approach is the best way to solve school bullying. Recently in Korea, school bullying is one of the most serious issues. There were lots of solutions of punishments but these ways could not solve effectively. Therefore, psychological approach is on the rise for it and I want to write an essay about its solution linked human brain.
2) How I found my argument.
 
My first research question was, what is the human minds of adolescents? In my class, we studied about the human minds in various aspects. However, I want to know especially about adolescents and their human minds therefore I researched psychological features of them. During my first research, I realized that specific psychological features of adolescents can cause many social problems like school bullying and teen-age crimes. (I don't mean that those features must bring about those problems.) Therefore I connect certain features and social problems and research about that. As I'm interested in education, it is much easier and fascinating than former argument.
 
3) New research questions
 
-What is importance of research of psychological features?
-What is the current state of Korea about school bullying?
4) Connections to the Harvard Sampler.
 
1. Because I researched about human minds of adolescents, it is obviously linked with Harvard Sampler.
 
2. Because development of mass media also influence psychologically, it can be related to computers.

I want to research about effects of environments deeply and specifically.
(I divided three parts like family, society and environments and summarized research sources.)

Family
-If parents are aggressive and overcontrol their children, they can assume a defiant attitude. And if parents are be overprotective of their children, they can be self-centered and selfish.
-When parents have inconsistant child-rearing attitude and are lack of understanding and care, it can affect them poorly. (For example, economic difficulty, lack of support.)
-The breakdown of a family like divorce can influence adolescents self -formation negatively. For example, proportion of teen-age deviations is increasing hugely. Also, family[domestic] violence can cause adjustment, behavioral ,nerve and mental disorder.

 
Society.
-How permissive the society is can determine how member of society are exposed to violence.
-These days, because of development of information and communications, mass media, students can be exposed to unhealthy materials more easily.
-As commercial viability caused by competition between medias make materials more arousing, it can give students effects more badly and hugely.
ㅡHarmful environments also can reinforce bad behaviors.


Education.
-Students stress out excessive education system that focuses only on college entrance exams. Their stress recognition rate are 69%.
-Lack of chances of avocation and self-improvement make this situation more serious.
-Passive responses of schools and teachers for reputation makes school bullying harder to resolve.

At first, I just thought that adolescents psychological features only can influence their behaviors but I realized that environments also can influence enormously. I can make one more support by this research!!

What is the correlation between school bullying and RESEARCH1'S psychological features?
 
♥I want to search about what psychological features of adolescents influence school bullying and how these features influence it.(specifically)
 
♥I pick certain representative features that influences school bullying.

Representative adolescents psychological features.
They are mentally immature and confused about their identities.
1. They influence a lot from their friends.
-They are showing off a sense of superiority among their friends.
-They depend on their friends a lot.
-They change their behaviors or opinions for conforming behavior.
-They strive not to be alienated from their friends.
-They lack a sense of empathy.(usually it is developed as they grow)
2. They desire independence from their parents.

1. depression
-According to Research of Seoul National University Hospital, 22% of high school students in Korea have severe depression, which is the highest proportion than ordinary persons and university students.
-Students who have a depression feel gloomy and behave aggressively and sensitively. Also it can be carried over into anti-social behaviors, anxiety disorder and behavioral disturbance.
-Increase of aggression because of it make students have difficulty in their relations and can decrease their self-regarding.
-This depression of adolescents is caused by many social and physical changes and environments.
2. superiority
-Adolescents usually want to show off their power by bullying others and dominating.
-One way to show off their power is to make a group that is threatening. They do bad things more easily. Actually there are 464 groups in Korean schools.
3. lack of empathy
-According to one research, when they studied attacker's brain they found that activity of hippocampus and amygdaloid nucleus that recognize the pain of others is remarkably low.
4. Effects of FAMILY and social, educational effects.
-Family education, absence of communication and the breakdown of a family can influence adolescents self -formation negatively.
-Violence of mass media and harmful environment can reinforce bad behaviors.
-Stress caused by forceful educational system make adolescents psychological problems.
 
After this research I could know that specific psychological features and their effects. Also, I realized that I want to connect these features more closely and need more research about how those environments like FAMILY, SOCIETY AND EDUCATION influence their behaviors and their minds. Based on this research, I would make my arguments. I can decide my topic.
